Making Tea Bags
Tea bags are made by filling up tea bags with tea leaves. You can also choose to order pre-made tea bags. Aim for about 1 tablespoon of tea per 250 mL (1 cup) of water. This step is optional, but it’s a good idea to add some flavorings like honey or fresh fruits to improve the flavor. Never use boiling water to brew your tea, because that will make the resulting brew much more bitter. This recipe uses a blend of cool and hot water to make your tea taste awesome. First, fill the gourd with tea until roughly two-thirds full. Then, add hot, but not boiling, water and sip through a metal straw, called a bomilla, which has holes in it to let the liquid come through but filters out the leaves.
Steeping Time
With a French press, you can easily adjust the strength of the tea by choosing how much loose leaf tea you use and how long you let it steep.
If you are using empty tea bags, fill them with the ground leaves. Make sure not to overfill the bags to allow the water to circulate freely and extract the flavors. Step 4: Steep the Tea. Step 5: Enjoy Your Homemade Tea.
On average, a cup of tea contains about 30-50 milligrams of caffeine.
Put 2-3 teaspoons of the loose-leaf into it, place over a cup, wet with cold water then pour hot water over leaves and through strainer into your favorite mug.
South American Tea
One of South America’s most social infusions.
You can make tea just how you make any other tea. Whether it be with a tea strainer, tea pot, french press, or even a coffee maker, these are all viable options.
